I picked up some things in the yard that might blow away or get destroyed before hurricane Idalia came through here. I took all my hanging orchids down (many were in bloom) and lined them up on a section of the south side fence. Today I was putting things back in place and noticed one of the orchids had broken off and blown against the fence. ( Read more... )

So many frangipani flowers dropped during the last few days of winds and rains here. I went around and picked a lot of them up the other morning and placed some in one of the birdbaths. At sundown the last rays of light caught a few and put them in the spotlight for one last bow before the curtain came down.
